PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Soon you’ll be able to see black and gold in a new spot: on top of the Gulf Tower.
The Pirates announced that the Gulf Tower, which is also illuminated to serve as the KDKA weather beacon, will now also light up to reflect the Pirates games.
The tower will light up according to runs or when the team wins.
The top of the tower will light up with black and gold for 60 seconds whenever the team gets a home run or for each run scored.
After each win at home or away, the tower will light up in honor of the Pirates.
Pirates scoreboard staff will control the display.
